COURSE: This course is for officers, investigators, detectives, supervisors, or anyone who may interview individuals to obtain the truth and facts of situations. Don’t miss detecting that next confession or dishonest situation. Hone your skills to be a better listener, reader, and analyzer between truth and lies.
TOPICS TO BE COVERED INCLUDE: Handwriting analysis, Personality aspects, Signs of deception, Posture and Eye Movement, Written statements, Taped statements, 911 calls, Identifying key words, Case studies, Practical exercises, and much more.NOTE: Students must attend all sessions of the course. Seating is limited.

Speed Measurement Date: May 11-15, 2026 - 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (Mon-Fri)
Location: Daytona State College - ATC campusCOURSE DESCRIPTION: This is the CJSTC and FDLE certified Speed Measurement Course (1158) to become a certified radar and laser operator in the State of Florida. The student will learn to identify targets and become familiar with speed estimates. The student will conduct testing procedures on the equipment to ensure proper operation. The student will learn the legal basis for the principles of Doppler radar and the proper vernacular for courtroom testimony. There will be at least 12 hours of hands-on practical exercises as part of the course.
It is recommended that the students bring radar and laser units for the field exercises (if available).
To attend this training the participant must be a Florida law enforcement officer. This class is 40 hours and is a salary incentive course. Training Authorization forms must be signed by agency representative authorizing incentive pay.

Stress Management Techniques Date: May 18 – May 22, 2026 - 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.

COURSE: This course will enhance an officer’s or supervisor’s ability to deal with stressful situations and the cumulative stress that is inherent in the criminal justice profession. In addition, this course will help officers recognize inherent stress in others, in the work environment, or community in which they interface.TOPICS COVERED: Assessment of Stressors & Reactions, Personal Stress Management Techniques, The Role of Physical Fitness & Nutrition, Dealing with Critical Incident Stress & PTSD, Substance Abuse, Managing Change, The Role of Family and Friends and Resources in Managing Stress, Emotional Survival, and Police Use of Force.
NOTE: Students are required to attend all sessions of the course and pass a written final exam with a minimum score of 80%.

TactiCopTraining - ADVANCED SURVEILLANCE TECHNIQUES Dates: May 26 – May 29, 2026

What to expect:
This training will consist of practical hands-on surveillance in realistic scenarios that mimic some of the complex criminal organizations in which surveillance is needed. The practical scenarios challenge the students to maintain their covert role while attempting to follow the suspects. Students will:- Install Trackers for vehicle monitoring
- Conduct Mobile Surveillance via foot/vehicle during the day and evening
- Monitor Electronic Surveillance
- Safety/Operational Planning
- Surveillance Responsibilities
Course Instructor:
Agent Rafael Baez has over sixteen years of experience as a law enforcement officer with thirteen years as a narcotics agent. Agent Baez has spent most of his career working undercover operations involving narcotics, firearms, and interdiction cases. Agent Baez started instructing in 2013 and has provided training at the local, regional, and national level for the Department of Defense Special Operations and for over a thousand law enforcement officers in Florida. Agent Baez has instructed topics such as: Narcotics and Dangerous Drugs, Surveillance Techniques, Undercover Operations, Vehicle Assaults, Firearms, and Defensive Tactics. Agent Baez has also been a member of the S.W.A.T Team since 2012. The TactiCop team of experienced Instructors have a wealth of knowledge in their respective fields. TactiCop instructors have experience in fields ranging from S.W.A.T., Narcotics Investigations, Defensive Tactics, Firearms Training, Surveillance Techniques, Undercover Operations, and Vehicle Assaults.
