GKT Prep
Getting ready for the General Knowledge Test?
We're here to help you succeed.
To get into Daytona State’s Bachelor of Science in Education program, you’ll need to pass at least two parts of the General Knowledge Test (also called the GKT or GK). This test is one of three exams that make up Florida’s Teacher Certification Exams (FTCE) – which are required to become a certified teacher in the state.
The other two exams are the Subject Area Exam and the Professional Education Exam. Once you’re in the program, we’ll help you prepare for those through your coursework and by working with you to create a plan for when to take each test. You won’t have to figure it out alone – we’re here to support you every step of the way.
When you register for the GKT, please be sure you select to have your scores sent to Daytona State College.
