Event will also honor Men’s Soccer Historic National Championship Run.
DAYTONA BEACH, FLA. (December 1, 2025) – Daytona State College will host a campus celebration recognizing the Falcon Women’s
Soccer team for winning its second consecutive NJCAA Division I National Championship
today at 4 p.m. at the soccer stadium on the Daytona Beach Campus.
The event will also honor the Men’s Soccer team for capturing the Florida College
System Activities Association (FCSAA) Region VIII and Southeast District titles and
advancing to the NJCAA DI National Championship match for the first time in program
history.
The Falcon Women capped a perfect 20-0 season on November 22, securing the 2025 NJCAA
Division I National Championship with a dramatic 5-4 double-overtime shootout victory
over Arizona Western College. The team won its first national title in 2024, also
defeating Arizona Western. The women also captured their second Region VIII Championship
and the Southeast District Championship earlier this season.
The Men’s team delivered a standout postseason run, claiming the Region VIII Championship
and Southeast District Championship before falling 1-0 to Indian Hills Community College
in the national title match. The Falcons finished the season with a 15-3-2 record.
This was their fifth appearance at the National Champion tournanment.
Women’s Head Coach Hope Clark and Men’s Head Coach Joe Avallone earned top coaching
honors, being named FCSAA Region VIII and Southeast District Coach of the Year and
Clark earned NJCAA Division I Coach of the Tournament.
Daytona State welcomes media, community members, alumni, faculty, staff and students
to celebrate these history-making accomplishments. The program will feature a roster
roll call and remarks from President Tom LoBasso, District Board of Trustees Chair
Dr. Randy Howard, Athletic Director Will Dunne and Head Coaches Hope Clark and Joe
Avallone.
Following remarks, both teams will be presented with their trophies.
