DAYTONA BEACH, FLA. (November 9, 2023) The most recent results are in from the NCLEX (the National Council Licensure Examination), and our graduates from Daytona State’s Bob & Carol Allen School of Nursing achieved a 99.11% pass rate. The nursing program has also experienced a remarkable 20% increase in the number of graduates.

“We offer one of the most rigorous and highly regarded nursing programs in the state and our NCLEX pass rate is a testament to the thoroughness of our program,” said Daytona State College President Dr. Tom LoBasso. “Our graduates enter the workforce with all the skills necessary to quickly integrate into any nursing position anywhere in the state.”

The impressive 99.11% pass rate on their first attempt at the exam places Daytona State among the top programs offered in Florida. The average NCLEX pass rate is 82.33% for nursing students across Florida, according to the Florida Board of Nursing, and the national pass rate is 86.82%. The NCLEX is one of the standardized tests nurses must pass to become either a licensed practical nurse or a registered nurse.

“These pass rates demonstrate the commitment of the faculty and staff within the Allen School of Nursing,” said Dr. Maxine Hicks, Dean of the Bob & Carol Allen School of Nursing. “We are tremendously proud of our graduates knowing they will join the ranks of DSC alumni helping to serve throughout our communities.”
