Financial Aid
Financial aid is available to help eligible students meet educational expenses. This
aid is provided through the federal government, state government, or through private
sources and may consist of grants, scholarships, loans, or work.
Applying for financial aid is not as complicated as you might think. The important
thing to remember is to take it one step at a time and plan in advance. The process
consists of completing the appropriate applications and submitting requested documentation
to the Financial Aid office.

Financial Aid Forms
All required financial aid paperwork must be submitted before the end of the semester while you are enrolled. If required paperwork is submitted after the end of the semester, you will not be eligible for financial aid for that semester.

Student Verification Forms -
Parent Verification Forms A Financial Aid Services representative will send an email to the student’s Daytona State Email (Falcon Mail) requesting any documents they may need to complete for their financial aid file.

Direct Loan Forms -
Financial Aid Advance Request Form Students currently enrolled and receiving financial assistance may be eligible to request an advance on their financial aid to assist in paying for educational expenses not covered by a book voucher. Students must have fully completed the process, including submission of the master promissory note and entrance counseling, if receiving Direct Loans.
Financial aid advance guidelines:
- Requests can be submitted after the add/drop period ends, and will be reviewed once attendance verifications are complete.
- Requests received after close of business on Wednesday and approved will be processed during refunds the following week on Friday after 5pm.
- Students can only submit one Financial Aid Advance Request per academic year
- Financial Aid Advance Requests will not exceed $1,000
- Approvals will be based on students' available funding
- Funds must be used for educational expenses, such as books, uniforms, and required equipment
- Students must provide supporting documentation along with this request

Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) Appeal Forms 2025-2026 Satisfactory Academic Progress Appeal
Students who do not meet the standards of Financial Aid Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP), and who have been suspended from financial aid eligibility, have an opportunity to submit a SAP Appeal for reconsideration. Please contact the Financial Aid Services Office by calling 386-506-3015 or emailing financialaid@daytonastate.edu for the process on submitting a SAP Appeal.

Private Loan Forms -
Other Forms - Students currently enrolled in a clock hour program who will be continuing for the next consecutive semester are required to complete this form, as there are more than 14 days between the semesters. Students who are not planning to enroll in the next semester, or who do not complete the form, may be subject to the financial aid Return of Title IV calculation. This calculation may result in a balance owed to Daytona State College.
