National Certified Medical Office Assistant (NCMOA) at Daytona State College

Build academic and workplace skills while preparing for a career pathway in healthcare office support. The National Certified Medical Office Assistant (NCMOA) pathway helps students strengthen skills through an Academic Skills Building (ASB) class while preparing for medical office support work in healthcare settings.

New for Fall 2026: The NCMOA pathway begins Aug. 25, 2026.

Students who earn the National Certified Medical Office Assistant (NCMOA) certification may be eligible for six college credit hours toward the Associate of Science (A.S.) degree in Medical Office Administration through a Florida statewide articulation agreement, if the certification is current and was issued within three years prior to enrollment in the program.

Eligibility

Students must be co-enrolled in an Academic Skills Building (ASB) class and the NCMOA pathway.

  • CASAS Reading GOALS 2 score at NRS Level 5 or 6
  • Co-enrollment in an Academic Skills Building (ASB) class and the NCMOA pathway

Class Schedule & Location

  • Offered at the Daytona Beach Campus and Deltona Campus
  • Monday–Thursday
  • 6–9 p.m.

How to Enroll

  1. Apply to an Adult Education program.
  2. Complete the CASAS Reading GOALS 2 test and score at NRS Level 5 or 6.
  3. Meet with an Enrollment Specialist or School of Adult Education staff to confirm eligibility, review pathway options, and attend orientation.
  4. Register for an Academic Skills Building (ASB) class and the NCMOA pathway, then begin classes.
