Big Data"Many of the databases that we are used to cannot handle the sheer volume of data that drives much of industry today," said Anindya Paul, chair of DSC's School of Computer Science. "This new program prepares our graduates to better mine what we call big data so it can be analyzed for insights that lead organizations to make more strategic and effective business decisions."
3-D PrintingAdditive Manufacturing marks three specializations (including Electronics, Digital Design and Modeling) students can choose from within the AS in Engineering Technology program. It is being operated out of DSC’s new Advanced Manufacturing Center, located at the ATC. The center’s array of metal, resin and plastic 3D printers and laser scanners was purchased through a $300,000 legislative appropriation in 2017.
AdvancementMost programs also are transferable, allowing you to advance your studies to higher levels, including the Daytona State College Bachelor of Science in Engineering Technology, which you can earn in only two years after completing your associate of science degree. Daytona State College also has articulation agreements with other four-year institutions that will apply your AS degree credits toward a bachelor's degree.
