Faculty Training

Digital badge, online pro

To support instructional excellence, our training program includes a foundational course on utilizing our learning management system (LMS), Falcon Online, complemented by a series of courses dedicated to pedagogical best practices that enhance students' learning experiences.

All training courses are offered fully online and self-paced. Faculty work independently, while also receiving meaningful feedback from a facilitator and opportunities to reflect, revise, and engage with fellow faculty throughout the experience. The courses are intentionally designed to give faculty insight into learning from the student perspective.

Required training for full-time and part-time faculty teaching college-credit courses is based on instructional modality:

  • Face-to-Face: complete Falcon Online Training (FOT).
  • Hybrid: complete FOT and Regular & Substantive Interaction (RSI).
  • Fully Online: complete the Online Faculty Training Series (which includes both FOT and RSI). Further details are provided below.

For a comprehensive overview of expectations and requirements, please refer to the Faculty Guidelines.
