I teach because I believe I can make a difference in students’ lives, helping them succeed in their career choices and achieve their goals by sharing my industry experience and training.

What did you do prior to joining Daytona State College? Hospitality industry professional for a top-400 company and coordinator of culinary operation’s for Volusia County Schools.

What projects are you working on right now? I am working with different companies to develop a new culinary lab on the Flagler/Palm Coast Campus. My staff and I are also developing a Hospitality and Culinary Certificate to be offered beginning in fall 2013.

Most rewarding Daytona State College experience: The opportunity to work at the school (DSC) that started me on the path to reach my goals in life has been very gratifying. I now have the chance to help others reach that same goal.

What is one goal you still hope to achieve in your career? I want to expand our hospitality programs to our other campuses.

One thing people are surprised to find out about me is: I am a missionary for the Eastern Greek Orthodox Church, doing volunteer work at an orphanage program in Guatemala City.

Last book read: "In the Fire," a book based on the scientific study of how cooked food affected evolution.

If they could bottle your personality what would the label read? Very easy to talk to.

If you could have a dinner party and invite any four people, dead or alive, the guest list would be: Thomas Jefferson, Winston Churchill, Leonardo Da Vinci and Abraham Lincoln.

The Daytona State of Mind to me is:  A place where goals or dreams we hold in our mind can be achieved.
