What did you do prior to joining Daytona State College? Secretary for a CPA firm and co-owned a real estate company in between that time.
What professional projects are you working on right now? Beginning stages toward a master’s degree in management and strategy from Western Governors University.
What has been the most rewarding thing about your Daytona State College experience? It’s a pleasure to help the students, faculty and staff when there is something I can do to make their lives simpler; however, I, in turn, have been powerfully influenced by students, faculty and staff. Interaction with each group has taught me valuable life lessons along the way.
What is one goal you still hope to achieve in your career? There is no specific goal. I want to be an ever-changing, relevant employee at DSC.
In life? To continue being someone my children look forward to visiting as we grow older.
One thing people are surprised to find out about me is: It’s amusing to some that I can read that squiggly writing called shorthand.
Last book read: I tend to skim books. I’m planning to completely read a new book written by a history professor at DeLand Campus, Doug Giacobbe, titled—By Unknown Means, which has an action-based theme with details drawn on experiences in his life as a narcotics investigator.
If they could bottle your personality what would the label read? If they have eyesight like mine, they wouldn’t be able to tell. Maybe that’s the answer: Difficult to read.
If you could have a dinner party and invite any four people, dead or alive, the guest list would be: Benjamin Franklin, Jimmy Stewart, Amelia Earhart, and most of all, my dad.
The Daytona State of Mind to me is: Cultivating skills to navigate any path chosen.
