Question: How do I enable plagiarism detection?

Answer:

The Turnitin plagiarism detection is available through the Dropbox. Commenting may also be performed using the Grademark product. Here is how to enable Plagiarism Detection:

  1. Select the Dropbox link from the Navbar
  2. Select the Edit icon (pencil) next to the dropbox that you would like to have plagiarism detection

  3. Check the select box to enable Plagiarism Detection

  4. Select the Save button
  5. A new set of options become available. Select the Show Advanced Plagiarism Options link

  6. Select the options that you prefer. To enable plagiarism detection for every submission, select the Automatic Plagiarism Detection on all Submissions option
  7. Select the Save button

How to Use

These file types are compatible with Plagiarism Detection: MS Word (.doc and .docx), WordPerfect (.wp), PostScript (.ps), Acrobat PDF, HTML, RTF and Plain Text.

When students submit assignments to a dropbox with Plagiarism Detection enabled, a status message will appear

When the review process is complete, a plagiarism percentage icon will appear indicating the amount of potential infringement.

Select the percentage icon to view the originality report. To leave comments, select the Markup icon to enter the Grademark annotation mode or select the Grademark function from the Turnitin menu.
