Aerospace Technology, A.S. Degree

Are you passionate about pursuing a career in aerospace? As an aerospace technician, you’ll play a crucial role in advancing the aerospace industry through innovative solutions and technical expertise involving structural fabrication and composite materials.

Daytona Beach and east Volusia County are part of Florida’s Space Coast and home to a fast-growing aerospace technology hub. Located one hour north of Kennedy Space Center and Cape Canaveral Space Force Station, Daytona State College is training the workforce for a growing number of aerospace startups and established companies.

In this program, you will fabricate aircraft structures using advanced composite materials and precision assembly techniques; build and test mechanical systems through coursework in aerospace mechanics and manufacturing processes; and wire and troubleshoot avionics systems with training in electrical circuits, analog and digital devices, and electronics assembly. 

You will also master industrial safety protocols and quality assurance practices to ensure mission-critical reliability, while developing project management expertise to lead real-world initiatives. From the shop floor to the flight line, this program equips you to maintain, repair, and construct the aircraft and spacecraft of tomorrow.

Our Aerospace Technology program can be completed in four semesters. The program includes certificates for Aerospace Technician and Structural Technician.

Program details

• Semi-annual admission: We admit students during the Spring, Summer and Fall semesters.
• Full-time day program: This intensive, hands-on program starts in Spring 2026

Prerequisites

• Have a standard high school diploma or GED
• Provide an official transcript from all previous educational institutions
