The Emergency Medical Services education programs at Day91 at Halifaxtona State College offer instruction in Emergency Medical Technician & Paramedic. Successful candidates may become state and Nationally Registered EMTs and Paramedics.
The Associate of Applied Science degree provides the
additional coursework and for graduates to advance within EMS and Fire Service organizations. Also, there are several universities that have programs for upper level studies in EMS and Fire Service management.
Additionally, through the Institute of EMS Education, certified and licensed healthcare personnel may complete advanced, specialized and refresher training to comply with state and national guidelines.
All EMS programs are “limited access programs”. You must obtain and complete an application from the EMS Department. Admission to Daytona State College does not guarantee entrance into EMS programs.
The next available EMT courses will begin in May 2010. Classes will be available during the day and evening. All EMT Classes are located at the Advanced Technology College Campus in Daytona Beach.
The next available Paramedic course will begin in May 2010 and will be conducted on EVAC Ambulance “A” Shift. All Paramedic Classes are located at the main Daytona Beach Campus.
