DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (Sept. 12, 2013) - Daytona State College presents the following calendar of events for October 2013.

Events are open to the public and free of charge, unless otherwise noted.

Growing Farm Profits
This program is designed for individuals who are interested in small-scale or urban agricultural production. This course is open to interested citizens, new or aspiring farmers, rural or urban landowners, small farmers, and farm families looking for new ideas. The goal of this course is to help individuals develop real-life expectations for their agricultural business. The topics include developing a business plan for your operation, marketing, financial considerations and regulations for selling products in Florida.  The Small Business Development Center developed the Agribusiness Center to help small farmers grow their bottom lines. Cost: $10.

Supercharge Your Facebook Marketing
Join the Small Business Development Center at Daytona State College and SCORE to  find out how to get more Facebook Fans, how to post a great special offer on Facebook and measure the results, how to run a Facebook contest, how to get your current Facebook Fans to share the good news with your business with their Facebook friends, and how to help ensure your posts actually show up on your Fans’ walls. Free and open to the public. Registration required.

How to Start Your Own Business
Join the Small Business Development Center at Daytona State College and SCORE to get a realistic view of the seven basic requirements for business STARTUP: selecting an idea, testing the market, acquiring capital, writing a plan, turning for help, understanding legal requirements, and putting it all together. Free and open to the public. Registration required.
