Visit Daytona State College’s School of Emergency Services at their new location that features state-of-the-art classes and administrative offices and find out why we are the area’s first choice for public safety training and education. Ceremony begins promptly at 2 p.m.

Animal Control Officer Certification
As a certified animal control officer you will promote the peaceful co-existence between animals and the citizens of Volusia and Flagler counties. The 40-hour  Animlal Control Officer certification course  emphasizes protection, care and humane law  enforcement. Cost: $350 (Includes all class materials, books and state licensing examination fee.)

CarFit®
Students in the Occupational Therapy Assistant program at Daytona State College will put their training into practice by participating in the March 20 CarFit® event – a unique program that offers older adults the opportunity to check how their personal cars “fit” them.  "Students will lead older drivers through a 12-point checklist with their vehicle,” said OTA Academic Clinical Coordinator Shirish Lala. “It’s a great opportunity for our students to work in the community, and each assessment concludes with recommendations for car adjustments and adaptations that could make the individual’s cars “fit” better or enhance their safety.” FREE.

Celebrating Women in Science, March 28March 28, Noon-1:30 p.m.
Celebrating Women in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM)
Join the Daytona State College Women's Center as they celebrate National Women's History Month by hosting their annual luncheon that will honor local women who have made a difference in people's lives. This year’s luncheon honors Dr. Pamela Carbiener’s passion for serving all people and providing the highest standard of healthcare services to all whom seek her care, regardless of status, is exemplary. In addition, Major General Polly Peyer (USAF, retired) will be the keynote speaker. Dr. Peyer’s contribution as a “Woman in STEM was most recently observed in her role as Commander of the Warner Robins Air Logistics Center, Air Force Material Command at Robins Air Force Base, Ga.
Tickets are $25 with proceeds benefitting the Daytona State College's Center for Women and Men.
