The Fresh Start for Men program is a free 4-week life skills class designed to assist individuals preparing to transition into career and technical training at Daytona State College.The program is structured to provide an atmosphere of support and encouragement, while offering practical tools for setting goals to be successful in life.
Students will complete a Personal Development Plan, which provides a road map to explore career options, examine educational opportunities and establish career goals. Students will also learn interview and job-readiness skills and how to create a resume for successful entrance into the workforce.
To register for the class, students must have a standard high school diploma or GED or be referred by the School of Adult Education at Daytona State College. Graduates of the Fresh Start for Men program may be eligible to receive scholarship assistance for A.S. or Vocational Certificate programs at the college.
