Falcon Baseball Players Make Player Commitments
Three Falcon baseball players have made commitments to continue their playing careers after Daytona State College. Matt Naylor, Brad Emery, and Nathan Bond have all signed letters of intent securing their position on collegiate ball clubs for the 2014-2015 school year.
Naylor, a freshmen right hand pitcher from Orlando, FL, committed with University of North Florida after an impressive freshmen season. Naylor pitched 51 innings in relief for the Falcons this year, allowing just 27 runs on the season. His 2.51 ERA, established him as the Mid-Florida Conference's top reliever, impressing the Osprey staff at North Florida.
Teammate Brad Emery has made his commitment with USC-Upstate. Emery, a native of Palm Beach Gardens, FL, was a sophomore on the Falcon pitching staff. This left hand pitcher appeared in 11 games for the Falcons. In his 11 outings he struck out 40 and recorded a 3.83 ERA.
Nathan Bond is the fourth Falcon player that has landed a roster position at a four year school beyond his tenure at Daytona State. Bond, also an Orlando native, has signed to play with Bethune Cookman. He led the Falcons offensively with 47 hits, hitting an impressive .331. His 47 hits included 6 doubles, 2 triples, and 1 homerun on the year.
Daytona State looks forward to watching these players excel at the next level as they extend their careers with these NCAA Division I programs.
