Who We Are
The Associate Degree Nursing (ADN) program is a two year course of study that prepares graduates for nursing careers in hospitals, long term care, and ambulatory care settings. After earning an Associate Degree in Nursing, the graduate is eligible to take the national examination (NCLEX) for licensure as a Registered Nurse.

Application Details
- Print and complete the Nursing Application
- Applications will not be accepted by mail or email.
- During the application period, you are required to meet with an academic advisor to review your application. Please contact Academic Advising to schedule an appointment.
- Decision letters will be mailed approximately 6 weeks after the admission window closes.
May & September Applicants
Nursing applications for the Associate of Science Degree in Nursing and Transition into Professional Nursing programs are accepted every business day during the month of May for classes starting in August, and every business day during the month of September for classes starting in January.
Students who plan to apply must take AMH2020 or POS2041 to satisfy the Civic Literacy Competency graduation requirement established by the Florida Department of Education. The Associate Degree Nursing program will no longer require Oral Communication/SPC2608. The course will be replaced with one of the Civic Literacy options in order to keep the program at 72 credits. Please contact an advisor if you have questions regarding this new requirement.

What do I have to include with the nursing program application? The submitted nursing application must include:
- Completed nursing application.
- Copy of unofficial transcripts. All official transcripts must be received by the Admissions Office at the time of application submission.
- Copy of passing TEAS* test scores.

*The TEAS test is a requirement for acceptance into the nursing program and it must be taken at Daytona State College PRIOR to submitting an application.

Where can I take the TEAS test and how can I prepare? -
How does the application selection process work? Selection based on a point system. The applicants with the highest cumulative points are the students accepted into the program. See the criteria in the How to Apply Guide.
Final acceptance into the program is contingent upon satisfactory results from a physical examination and both a negative drug screening and cleared Level II background check conducted through the FDLE/FBI.
