Career/Professional honors: Faculty Senate honorable mention for teaching excellence; national sales leader for a month while working in the insurance industry.
Outside interests: Sports, fishing, traveling with my wife, family and especially spoiling my granddaughter.
What did you do prior to joining Daytona State College? Owned an insurance agency; management with Publix Supermarkets; four years in United States Air Force.
What professional projects are you working on right now? Preparing new curriculum for a new version of the GED® Test that comes out in January 2014.
What has been the most rewarding thing about your Daytona State College experience? Having the honor to help so many students meet their educational and personal goals, and working with so many wonderful people over the years.
What is one goal you still hope to achieve in your career? To learn as much as possible and help people become the best they can become for their families and for the future of society.
In life? Author books for students, parents and athletes, and work motivational seminars.
What’s the best advice you’ve ever gotten? Don't waste today, for no matter how much money you have, you can't buy back yesterday.
One thing people are surprised to find out about me is: I love all history.
Last book read:Killing Kennedy by Bill O'Reilly.
If they could bottle your personality what would the label read? Energetic and enthusiastic.
If you could have a dinner party and invite any four people, dead or alive, the guest list would be: Jesus Christ, Ronald Reagan, Zig Ziglar, Clint Eastwood.
“The Daytona State of Mind” to me is: Preparing students to utilize their maximum potential for success in life.
