2019 DSC Tortugas Take Over Night

Ahead of the August 10 Enrollment Day event, Daytona State College painted the Jackie Robinson ballpark blue during the August 7 DSC Tortugas Take Over Night where student-athletes, student leaders, faculty and staff attended a home baseball game of the Daytona Tortugas. Hightlights included ceremonial first pitches by DSC alum and 2019 Mrs. Florida USA, Carly Meek, SGA President, Stephen Miksits, DSC mascot Freddie Falcon and DSC President, Dr. Tom LoBasso; the National Anthem was performed by several members of the DSC Jazz Choir, supported by two students from the American Sign Language Club; military veterans were recognized during the first innings, followed by participation by student-athletes in games of daring-do through out the event.

Many thanks to the Daytona Tortugas for hosting this take over where we showcased Falcon athletic programs, admissions as well as DSC Foundation and Alumni & Friends staff promoting Homecoming 2019. Photos courtesy of Aldrin Capulong.
