Efianayi Honored as Region 8 Men’s Basketball Player of the Week

Daytona State College’s Tanksley Efianayi is this week's NJCAA Region 8/FCSAA Men's Basketball Player of the Week. Efianayi, a sophomore from Orlando, Fla., averaged 27.0 points and 7.2 rebounds in four games during the voting period. After scoring 18 points in the Falcons’ season-opening win against Southeastern Illinois (October 31), he had three straight games of 25+ points, beginning with a 28-point effort against Clinton (November 1). He poured in 37 points in an overtime loss to Hillsborough (November 7) then finished the week with 25 points in Daytona State’s win over South Georgia Tech. For the week, he shot 50.0 percent (33-of-66) from the floor, 36.0 percent (9-of-25) from the three-point line and 84.6 percent (33-of-39) from the free throw line.
