Steve Lochte
Head Coach
November, 2008, Steve Lochte was named as the Head Coach of the Swimming & Diving program at Daytona State College. Steve Lochte will serve as the head coach of the men’s and women’s swim teams and begins his work immediately as he recruits for the 2009-2010 academic year.
Growing up in Upstate NY, Steve swam as a youngster at the local YMCA. Steve continued swimming through high school and college at the University of Miami where he became an All-American.
What are his plans for the Daytona State Swimming & Diving Team? “To generate a program that is a positive benefit to the student-athlete and the college, by having them excel academically. Also to become a National Championship contender and champion as soon as possible!”

1981-1996 Coached Niagara District- Senior Team to 15 straight Championships, 5 World Ranked Swimmers, All American Swimmers (College and High School)
1988 US Olympic Trials- Rookie of the Meet Swimmer, 8th and 11th place finishes.
1985-1989 MacCabee Games (Tel-Aviv) 9 Gold & 2 Silver Medals
1990 League of European Nations Championships (Rome) 6th place
1991 World University Games (Sheffield, England) Bronze Medal
1991 Pan Pacific Games (Edmonton) 3 Silver Medals
1992 US Olympic Trials - Two 3rd Place finishes
1995 Pan American Games- Assistant Coach
2000 US Olympic Trials - 2 Athletes US Olympic Trials

Kristin Lochte
Assistant Coach
Kristin started her coaching career fourteen years ago with Daytona Beach Speed Swimming Inc. (Speed) program. She currently is the Head Age Group Director of this program that includes approximately 250 swimmers, and has developed age – group swimmers to Olympic Trial qualifiers.
Kristin swam in high school in New York where she became sectional and state champion in the butterfly. In college Kristin was 1st team all American and captain of the National Championship Team at Indian River State College. She has a BA degree from the University of Central Florida.
