Joanna is an assistant professor of art and program coordinator at Eastern Florida
State College. Thematically, White’s work addresses concepts of mortality, eternity,
permanence, impermanence, individuality and corporeality. Contradictions in shape,
material and titling allude to notions of distortions, displacement and paradox.

Brass Band of Central Florida

The Brass Band of Central Florida, under the musical direction and baton of Chad Shoopman,
features Central Florida’s finest brass and percussion musicians performing in the
British brass band style with a uniquely American twist. The organization has an active
performance schedule, including worldwide concerts and competitions. The concert will
also present the Youth Brass Band of Central Florida, an organization created to include
the talented youth of Central Florida within the Brass Band’s organization.
