Outside interests: Yoga, travel, exploring nature and new experiences such as the flying trapeze.
What did you do prior to joining Daytona State College? I was an elementary school teacher.
What professional projects are you working on right now? I am creating and piloting a series of workshops to assist nursing students with test-taking skills: Preparing for the Exam, Calming Test Anxiety, and Critical Thinking during the Exam.
What has been the most rewarding thing about your Daytona State College experience? Seeing students’ progress in their educational journeys and meeting their educational goals is very rewarding. I also enjoy collaborating with the talented faculty and staff at DSC.
What is one goal you still hope to achieve in your career? I would like to earn a doctoral degree.
In life? I desire to be the best mother I can be to the daughter I am expecting in July.
What’s the best advice you’ve ever gotten? “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” Philippians 4:13
One thing people are surprised to find out about me is: I lived in Whitefish, Mont., when I was a kid. While in Montana, we would often drive through Glacier National Park to look for wildlife. There were occasionally bear and moose in our front yard. I even tasted moose tongue once!
