What did you do prior to joining Daytona State College? I was a hair stylist.
What has been the most rewarding thing about your Daytona State College experience? Living in the New Smyrna Beach area and working on a regional campus, I see many of our students out and about in the local community. It’s the strong ties that DSC has to the community and the friendships made with our students that allow them to feel comfortable to approach you off campus with DSC questions or just to simply say hello and chat a bit. It’s a great feeling to be a part of your local community in this way, while assisting students in fulfilling their educational goals.
What is one goal you still hope to achieve in your career? To be a part of the growing team that aids in bringing additional programs to the NSB/Edgewater Campus.
In life? Sailing the Caribbean
What’s the best advice you’ve ever gotten? Life is better in flip flops.
One thing people are surprised to find out about me is: I create jewelry from sea glass that I find on beaches.
Last book read: The Art of Racing in the Rain by Garth Stein
If they could bottle your personality what would the label read? Living on Island Time
Who are the four people in the history of the world you most admire? My mom, Nancy Reagan, Princess Diana and Ellen DeGeneres.
The Daytona State of Mind to me means pursuing your educational dream while building lifelong friendships along the way with students, faculty and staff.
