Outside interests: Dog-walking, writing lyrics and short stories, floral design.
What did you do prior to joining Daytona State College? I worked in public and college libraries.
What professional projects are you working on right now? Creating, facilitating and motivating Fresh Start graduates to enroll in college and reach for their goals via the Fresh Start Alumni group/meetings.
What has been the most rewarding thing about your Daytona State College experience? Making a real and meaningful difference in the lives of students and clients of the Center for Women and Men.
What is one goal you still hope to achieve in your career? I would like to get published (motivation/encouragement for job search strategies, short stories, or blog about my experiences as a caregiver).
In life? I would like to start a non-profit to assist and advocate for elderly citizens with health concerns, fostering companionship, connecting with youth as mentors and teaching tech skills.
What’s the best advice you’ve ever gotten? Let go, Let God.
One thing people are surprised to find out about me is: I have worked in the floral industry for over 30 years.
