- DSC employee since 2004
Degrees and schools where awarded: Bachelor in Business Administration, with a concentration in Human Resources Management from the University of Puerto Rico.
Career/Professional honors: LDI I & II Certificates

What did you do prior to joining Daytona State College? I worked for The Caribbean Investment Group as their human resources official. They own all the Fuddruckers and Uno Chicago Grill restaurants in Puerto Rico. When I was there, we (they) had five very busy Fuddruckers and two Uno Chicago Grills. It was a great and fun experience, plus I had the perk of free food all the time! But, I left to move to Florida.
What professional projects are you working on right now? I am working on the 2013-2014 update for the Human Resources section of the College Catalog.
What has been the most rewarding thing about your Daytona State College experience? The sense of community existing at the college.
What is one goal you still hope to achieve in your career? I hope to continue to be a valued employee, but I have no specific goal at the moment.
In life? I want to hug a tiger… a tiger cub!
What’s the best advice you’ve ever gotten? Prepare for the worst and hope for the best!
One thing people are surprised to find out about me is: I am from the Caribbean, but I like neither pineapples nor mangos. Also, I like neither pork nor beef!
Last book read: “The Littles Make a Friend” by John Peterson. Yes, it’s for children! I read it with my girls. One of them is in Kindergarten and she participates in a reading club, so every week she brings home two to three books.
If they could bottle your personality what would the label read? A well-made cocktail!
If you could have a dinner party and invite any four people, dead or alive, the guest list would be: This opportunity would be awesome and one guest is all I want and need for this occasion. I would have dinner with my father, who passed away in 2011, because I still miss him every day. Background music? Salsa! The menu? Conch Salad!
The Daytona State of Mind to me is education and resources eagerly available for everyone in a diverse environment.
