What did you do prior to joining Daytona State College?
I was a full-time student. I also worked as a part-time custodian and teacher assistant at an elementary school.
What projects are you working on right now? Resolving student complaints and concerns.
What has been the most rewarding thing about your Daytona State College experience? Working with exceptional staff, faculty and students. I enjoy seeing the children and even the grandchildren of former students. It’s very rewarding to see their success. I also had an opportunity to travel to South Africa. I feel blessed to be a part of the DSC family.
What is one goal you still hope to achieve in your career? Meet as many new faculty and staff as possible.
One thing people are surprised to find out about me is: I have worked in every category at DSC: student, career employee, professional, faculty and administrator.
Last book read: “Uncommon” by Tony Dungy.
If they could bottle your personality what would the label read? Ability to remain calm in difficult situations (most of the time).
If you could have a dinner party and invite any four people, dead or alive, the guest list would be: Gen. Colon Powell; Charles Bailey, Sr. (WWII/Tuskegee Airman from DeLand); Les Brown (international motivational speaker) and Dan Warren (former Florida State Attorney and WWII bomber pilot).
"The Daytona State of Mind" to me is: With hard work, everyone has the opportunity to succeed and reach their full potential.
