Outside interests: I enjoy refurbishing discarded furniture. There’s just something about bringing new life to something that has been cast off as junk.
What did you do prior to joining Daytona State College? I worked for Sears Automotive. But I wanted to return to school. Working at DSC gave me that opportunity and I’ve been going to school ever since.
What professional projects are you working on right now? I’m currently working toward a doctorate in Educational Leadership.
What has been the most rewarding thing about your Daytona State College experience? Being a member of the team developing (the SACS Quality Enhancement Plan) Learn to SOAR.
What is one goal you still hope to achieve in your career? To secure a position in the classroom.
In life? To become a professional motivational speaker.
One thing people are surprised to find out about me is: I was a finalist for Gov. Jeb Bush’s first-ever Florida Gubernatorial Fellows. Platform: Dental Healthcare for Senior Citizens.

If they could bottle your personality what would the label read? She maintains a servant’s heart no matter how great her position may be.

The Daytona State of Mind to me is: A higher educational institution that’s excellent in all that it does and continues to build a reputation for being consistent and reliable.
