Tina Browne, 2012
- Senior Office Assistant (Wetherell Center lobby information station)
- DSC employee since 2006
Degrees and schools where awarded: Associate of Applied Science in Business Management, Daytona State College. Bachelor of Applied Science in Supervision and Management, Daytona State College (expected graduation in spring 2013).
Outside interests: Founder of Chloe’s Paw, a 501 c3 organization that provides financial assistance to families who are unable to pay 100 percent of veterinary expenses. I also have been a kickboxer for more than 10 years.
Who’s Chloe? She was my beagle, who we rescued from the Humane Society. She was very sickly, but we took her anyway and gave her a great three years. After she passed, I decided to put together a foundation to help other animals who need pet care. Chloe’s Paw has been operational for two years.
What did you do prior to joining Daytona State College? I worked full-time as an aerobics instructor for several local fitness centers.
What projects are you working on right now? Currently, I am working to raise money for Chloe’s Paw and Stable Haven Horse Rescue.
What has been the most rewarding thing about your Daytona State College experience? I get a million questions a day, and have come across some inspirational students while sitting at the Information Center. I’ve met students who have made me laugh and some who have made me sad. But the students who bring me the most joy are the ones who come back and never give up.
What is one goal you still hope to achieve in your career? I hope to have my own animal sanctuary called Chloe’s Place.
One thing people are surprised to find out about me is: I have my own line of organic beauty products called Natural Products by TMB. I also do a pet care line that helps me raise money for Chloe’s Paw.
The Daytona State of Mind to me means that you can achieve anything you set your mind to do. I am happy that I have had the opportunity to take advantage of what Daytona State College offers.
