Congratulations to Airen Payne, Kristina Holland and Kathleen Nichols. They are all continuing their education and playing softball at D-I and D-II institutions for the 2008-09 school year. Airen Payne will play for the University of North Florida, a D-I institution in Jacksonville. Kristina Holland will play for Rollins College, a D-II institution in Winter Park. And Kathleen Nichols will play for the University of South Carolina-Aiken, a D-II institution in Aiken, South Carolina. Congratulations ladies!

FCCAA/NJCAA Region VIII stats have come in and Daytona State College is ranked 10th in team batting averages. Individual pitching ranks Katie Murphy 4th and Kathleen Nichols 11th. Katie Murphy was also ranked 3rd in strike out leaders. In the stolen bases category, Kristina Holland ranked 16th on the list. In the home run category, Airen Payne made the list ranked 11th with seven on the year. Airen Payne also made the rankings in RBI's.
