The Daytona State College Fire Training and Education provides great training opportunities to the new and experienced firefighter. This program prepares students with the fundamental knowledge and skills necessary to safely and dependably perform fire/rescue duties during emergency and non-emergency response situations.
From basic firefighting training for the new volunteer firefighter to degree programs for advancement in the field, the Emergency Services Institute's Fire Science programs have what you need. You can get standards training, specialized training and your Associate's degree right here at Daytona State.
Once you have your Associate's Degree in Fire Science, why not go on to a Bachelor's Degree? Well, here at Daytona State, you can advance to our new Bachelor of Applied Science degree and get your undergraduate degree without leaving town! Ask us how we can help you get to your career goals!
New for Summer 2011 - Night Fire Academy
Do you have a daytime job which prohibits you from taking a daytime Fire Academy program? Daytona State College has come up with a solution – we are now offering a night Fire Academy! You can keep you daytime job and take the Fire Academy program at night. Daytona State College also offers a night EMT Academy program. You can keep your daytime job, take a night Fire Academy and a night EMT Academy, and then move into a new career as a firefighter.

Saturday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
398 contact hours – includes Firefighter I and Firefighter II
Total cost - $2,800.00
