How to Apply for Graduation

Daytona State College awards the Bachelor of Applied Science, Bachelor of Science in Education, Associate of Arts, Associate of Applied Science, Associate of Science and Certificates to students who:

  • Meet both the general education requirements and specific requirements of their program.
  • Students enrolled in degree programs AA, AS, AAS, BSEd and BAS must earn a minimum 2.0 GPA in all courses taken at Daytona State College and a minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA (courses taken at Daytona State plus courses transferred from other institutions).
  • Students enrolled in certificate programs must earn an average GPA of 2.0 in their program-specific certificate courses in order to be eligible for graduation.
  • Fulfill the College Level Academic Skills Test (CLAST) requirements, if applicable.
  • Complete at least 25 percent of the degree requirement credits in residence at Daytona State College.
  • Satisfy the foreign language requirement for A.A., BSEd,  and B.A.S. degree candidates.
  • Fulfill all financial and other obligations to the college before receiving the degree or certificate.
  • All BAS, BS, AS, AAS. and Certificate programs must get section two on the Graduation Application completed and signed by the program of study department Chair.
  • Submit an application for graduation and pay appropriate graduation fees.
  • The fees are as follows:

    Primary Degree (Non-Refundable) - $25

    Each Additional Degree - $10

    Duplicate Diploma - $10

    College Credit and PSAV Certificates - $10 for the initial Certificate. There is no charge for additional certificates earned by student.

    High School Diploma - $10

    In addition, all students who participate in either the college or high school graduation ceremony must pay the cost for their academic regalia (cap and gown).

    Please be aware of the graduation application dates and deadlines. The fee will entitle the graduate to a diploma, if qualified, and to participate in the commencement ceremonies. Daytona State reserves the right to certify students as a completer once he or she has completed all requirements for the degree or certificate, regardless of whether they have completed an application for graduation. Students who do not complete the graduation application process will not receive a diploma or have the degree certificate statement on their official transcript.

Are You Sure You're Ready ?

Students not meeting graduation requirement for the term/semester applied under will need to reapply and pay another $25.00 processing fee for the new term/semester he or she is applying under.

Commencement ceremonies for degree, certificate and adult education candidates are in May. Students who complete graduation requirements in the Fall and/or Spring semester, or have applied early for graduation for Summer semester, are encouraged to participate in commencement ceremonies.

Completing Your Graduation Application

The following steps will assist you in completing your Application for Graduation (pdf):


  • Run a Degree Audit. Login to FalconNet Online Services. Select Registration and Records on the left navigation bar, and then select Degree Audit. (If you experience technical difficulties running your Degree Audit, please contact the Records Department. It is your responsibility to run the audit to make sure that you have met graduation requirements for the program you are applying under.
  • When reading your Degree Audit, each category of requirements will read COMPLETE if the requirement has been satisfied. If you have not met a requirement, it will read NOT SATISFIED.
  • If you know the class(es) or requirements needed to take to complete your graduation requirement(s), enroll in the coursework to satisfy the requirement prior to submitting your application. Academic Advisors will not run or re-run audits that read COMPLETE in all sections. Students that are COMPLETE in all required areas should:

    BACHELOR, AS, AAS, and Certificate Applicants: take the application to the Program Chairperson for completion of section II

    AA Applicants: take the application directly to the Cashier to pay for the application fee.

  • If you do NOT know what to take to satisfy requirements or have additional questions regarding your audit, please meet with an Academic Advisor prior to submitting your application. Advisors will assist in providing additional course recommendations, but will not build schedules or select sections.
  • Submit your application at the Q&A/enrollment office on any campus by the published deadline.

Requesting a Duplicate Diploma

Students who are in need of a duplicate diploma can simply fill out a duplicate diploma form which are located in the Q & A office/enrollment office on any campus. There is a $10 fee per duplicate diploma request. Please allow 3 business days for your request to be processed.
