A sold-out crowd enjoyed a feast fit for royalty while celebrating the community philanthropy of Dr. William Schildecker and the Bert Fish Foundation during the annual fundraising gala for the Foundation Board, held Sept. 18. President Carol W. Eaton presented the 2014 Falcon Award to Dr. Schildecker for his lifelong dedication to helping those in need through funding for education and specialized healthcare organizations.
"We cannot thank you enough, Dr. Schildecker and the Bert Fish Foundation, for all that you have done for this community, the country and this college," said Dr. Eaton. "Your philanthropic spirit, vision, selflessness and contributions are unmatched in funding healthcare and education in our region. You are truly champions for our community."
With a themed décor, guests enjoyed Foods from Around the World prepared by DSC culinary students, guided by Chef Costa Magoulas and his team of talented chef instructors. The evening featured a live trio, a silent auction with an array of goods and services donated by generous local sponsors, a beer garden and wine sampling, and the award presentation preceded by a video of testimonials to Dr. Schildecker.
