Course Description:

The course addresses not only sexual harassment but all types of unlawful harassment, including race, national origin and religion. Learners will receive the answers to common questions about harassment law such as: -What is and what is not unlawful harassment? -Where is the line drawn between consensual dating and harassment? What if the parties involved are a teacher's assistant and a student? -Do a professor's free speech rights trump harassment law? -Are employees allowed to display in the workplace materials demonstrating their religious beliefs? -Can a third party's conduct toward an employee cause unlawful harassment? -When is a hug or a shoulder rub appropriate?

This course is completely on-line and available on demand 24 hours.

Audience:

HAR003 Harassment for Faculty – Required for all Fulltime Regular/Temporary Faculty and Adjunct Faculty. Course length is 1.5 hours and must be completed with in 15 days of the date of hire.

HAR002 Harassment for Non Supervisors – Required for All Non-Faculty Part-time Regular/Temporary Employee on a non-supervisory position. Tri State employees on a non supervisory position who will be employed for a period of six months or more and assigned on any of the Daytona State College Campuses. Course length is 1.5 hours and must be completed with in 15 days of the date of hire.

HAR001 Harassment for Supervisors - All Non-Faculty Part-time Regular/Temporary Employee on a supervisory position. Tri State employees on a supervisory position who will be employed for a period of six months or more and assigned on any of the Daytona State College Campuses. Course length is 1.5 hours and must be completed with in 15 days of the date of hire.

Refresher Course for Non Supervisors – provided to all non supervisory employees three years after completion of Harassment for Non Supervisors Course (HAR002). Course length is 50 minutes.

Refresher Course for Supervisors/Faculty – provided to all supervisory employees and regular/and temporary full-time faculty three years after completion of Harassment for Non Supervisors Course (HAR002). Course length is 50 minutes.
