Join WISE and learn at Daytona State
DAYTONA BEACH, FL (May 5, 2009) - Join the Daytona State College Foundation for a series of special workshops for seniors in our community.
Wisdom In Senior Education (W.I.S.E.) is a new program to promote and share the academic college resources with seniors, providing learning opportunities in an enjoyable format.
Three workshops are currently scheduled as follows:
Thursday May 7, 2009; 1 to 2:30 p.m.
“Journey of World Poetry” - Dr. Joanne Pinkston
Thursday May 14, 2009; 2 to 3:30 p.m.
“Florida in the Movies Industry” Dr. Susan Fernandez (Funding for this program was provided through a grant from the Florida Humanities Council and the National Endowment for the Humanities.)
Thursday May 21, 2009; 2 to 3:30 p.m. (Social Hour 3:30 p.m.)
“Wine, Wine, Wine, Which One to Choose”
All workshops are held in the Mori Hosseini Center on the Daytona Beach Campus at 1200 W. International Speedway Blvd.

W.I.S.E. programs are designed with senior citizens in mind and include topics such as Photography, Culinary Arts, Social/Political, Humanities, Theater Arts, Foreign Policy, Today’s Economics, Criminal Justice, County Government, Philosophy, Development of Florida after World War II, Florida Art and Artist, and Cracker Culture in Florida History.
