Comedy marks season opener at Daytona State - Sept. 30
DAYTONA BEACH, FL (Sept. 26, 2008) - The School of Music, Entertainment, and Arts at Daytona State College announces its season opener, “You Can’t Take It With You,” by Moss Hart and George S. Kaufman, starting Tuesday, Sept. 30.
Welcome to the Sycamore household and all the "goings-on" associated with it, including fireworks, printing presses, ballet dancers, IRS agents, FBI agents, snakes, playwrights, a drunken has-been actor, a Russian countess turned waitress, and of course pickled pigs feet. Sound strange? You don’t know the half of it, but if you want to find out, do not miss this hilarious comedy from the mind and pen of George S. Kaufmann, one of America’s foremost writers of comedy.
Performances are scheduled for 7:30 nightly, Tuesday, Sept. 30 through Saturday, Oct. 4, and conclude Sunday, Oct. 5 with a matinee performance at 3 p.m.
Free to Daytona State and Volusia County students; $5 for all others. Tickets may be obtained in advance from the Daytona State Box Office located in the Theater Center (Bldg. 220) on the Daytona Beach Campus at 1200 W. International Speedway Blvd. Box Office hours are Wednesday through Friday, from 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., and one-hour prior to performances.
