WDSC-TV 15 airs pilot episode of Ms. Mola’s Make-ola!

DAYTONA BEACH, FL (Oct. 6, 2009) - Many moms recognize needs in their community and respond using their gifts. This mom is no different - except her community is growing to national and world proportions, and her gifts are varied and exceptional.

Meet local dynamo Molly Conole. Using her multiple talents as teacher, award-winning performer, composer and writer, she has created and locally produced a Telly Award Winning television show, Ms. Mola’s Make-ola! The show rolls kids’ educational exploration, ecology and creative problem-solving into one lighthearted package. “Advocating Kids’ Creativity – for the betterment of their world and ours” is her slogan, and she’s serious - and silly - about it.

The pilot episode of Ms. Mola’s Make-ola!’ aired on WDSC-TV 15 on Sunday, October 4 (with additional showings throughout October).

Started as a response to the growing concern for limited arts education in the school systems across the country, Conole decided it was time for television to “take up the torch” for children’s creativity. Combining her talents of writing, composing and performing with her determination to educate kids through the arts, Conole has spent the last two years researching, developing, and (ultimately) creating a new type of children’s television program: one that embraced children’s own creativity as being the most important aspect of their education.

With no knowledge of the television business, but a solid foundation in the visual as well as performing arts, Conole realized her goal of creating and selling a kids’ show was going to be a difficult one to reach, but, as a mother, she was determined to restore creativity into the daily world of children who were seeing their schools eliminate access to artistic expression - essentially removing valuable educational opportunities when, in fact, they were most needed. Brain-based educational research has indicated for years that the arts are essential for higher-level learning (creative problem solving, self-expression, and an open perspective as to what is possible in the world), and Conole knew her mission was to get kids to exercise their creative minds while also being mindful of the world around them.
