DAYTONA BEACH, FL (Nov. 22, 2010) - Coaching staff and players of Daytona State College’s Lady Falcon Softball team announces a four-day fastpitch softball academy for ages seven through 17 years old.
Covering skills such as fielding, hitting techniques, pitching as well as catching, the Holiday Academy begins Monday, Dec. 27 and will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. through Wednesday, Dec. 29; the academy concludes Thursday, Dec. 30 and will be held from 9 a.m. to noon.
The academy includes team games that are played at the end of each day. Participants will be separated into teams and will play different teams each day. Little Falcons (aged seven to 10 years) will play games as well but may use pitching machine for consistency. Cost is $125 per participant; any team bringing five or more players will receive a $10 discount per player.
“This academy promises to be a great softball experience,” commented Daytona State College Head Coach, Sabrina Manhart. “We have an awesome line-up of instructors including the SEC Pitcher of the Year, Kelsi Dunne, who currently attends the University of Alabama.”
Members of the Daytona State Softball team will join the coaching staff with instruction being provided by Head Coach, Sabrina Manhart; Assistant Coach, Alissa Smith; and Jessica Hurtado.
