DAYTONA BEACH, FL (March 3, 2010) - Acclaimed historical novelist, Lucia St. Clair Robson is scheduled to present “Re-searching History,” Thursday, March 25 at 6 p.m., in the J.M. Goddard Center (bldg. 230) on Daytona State College’s Daytona Beach Campus.
Robson will discuss finding and using sources in historical research, establishing accurate historical contexts for fiction, developing realistic fictional characters based on historical figures, and other aspects of writing. Her first book, Ride the Wind, made the New York Times Best Seller List and was included in the 100 best westerns of the 20th century. Since then she has written Walk in My Soul and Light a Distant Fire (a novel set in Florida about Seminole leader Osceola) as well as The Tokaido Road, Mary’s Land, Fearless: a Novel of Sarah Bowman, Ghost Warrior: Lozen of the Apaches, and Shadow Patriots: A Novel of the Revolution. Robson’s latest book, Last Train from Cuernavaca, is due for release next month.
Robson earned a Masters in Library Science from Florida State University and as a librarian, learned one of life’s great truths: “You don’t have to know all the answers—you just have to know where to find them.”
