DAYTONA BEACH, FL (May 7, 2009) - The Office of Student Activities at Daytona State College invite students, faculty and staff from Daytona State College, Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, Bethune-Cookman University and Stetson University to participate in an intercollegiate summer golf program.
Eligible individuals can play a round of golf for only $10 (+ tax) at Pelican Bay Country Club (located at 350 Pelican Bay Drive, Daytona Beach) on Thursdays beginning May 21 (now May 28) through Sept. 24. Play starts at 4:30 and continues through 7:30 p.m.
"We'll have special events and the occasional tournament throughout the summer," commented Michael Phelan, recreational sports facilitator at Daytona State. "It's been a popular activity each summer and I'd like to attract the more experienced player to develop this as a regular intercollegiate activity between our institutions."
For those who'd like additional tutoring or are new to the game, lessons with golf pro, Doug Feldman also will be offered on Thursdays at Pelican Bay Country Club. Two six-week sessions will be offered. The first session begins Thursday, May 21 (now May 28) and the second session begins Thursday, July 9. The cost per session is $75 per student or $15 per week. Lesson participation will be limited to ensure maximum instruction - sign-up early!
All fees are paid to Pelican Bay Country Club.
