DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (Feb. 4, 2010) - Learn more about Cameron Johnson during a presentation of the Entrepreneurial Speaker Series, Wednesday, March 3 at 6 p.m.
Cameron Johnson started his first business at the age of nine and before graduating high school, he was recognized as one of the most successful young entrepreneurs in the world. As a teenager he started a dozen profitable businesses; at 15 he became the youngest American appointed to the board of a Tokyo-based company; and as a college freshman, he started CertificateSwap.com, an online marketplace for gift cards, which was a runaway success and for which he was offered $10 million in venture capital. As one of the most well-known and successful young entrepreneurs in the world, Johnson has been a keynote speaker at countless events and seminars. He speaks on a variety of topics including entrepreneurship, technology, and frequently the economy. Whether he is speaking to a corporate audience or a crowd of teenagers or college students, he delivers a well-targeted message. He has shared the stage at various events with successful entrepreneurs and authors including Michael Dell, Richard Branson, T. Harv Eker, Brian Tracy, David Bach, David Allen, Tim Ferriss and numerous others.
In 2007, L. Gale Lemerand, a successful Volusia County Entrepreneur and a long time supporter of Daytona State College, provided an Endowment to the Daytona State College Foundation to found the "L. Gale Lemerand Center for Entrepreneurship." As a component of this Center, the Entrepreneurial Speaker Series complements Daytona State's comprehensive educational programs such as the Bachelor of Applied Science Degree with a specialization in Entrepreneurship as well as programs and training offered by the Small Business Development Center. Lemerand’s generous contribution will continue to bring to Daytona Beach a series of nationally recognized leaders in industry and government to inspire and educate students, faculty, staff and all residents of Volusia and Flagler counties. Previous presenters include S. Truett Cathy, Chick-fil-A Founder, Mori Hosseini, chairman and CEO of ICI Homes, and Warren Brown, CakeLove founder and host of the Food Network’s “Sugar Rush” program.
