DAYTONA BEACH, FL (Nov. 13, 2009) - Students in the Daytona State College athletic program are challenging the college community to donate canned goods and non-perishable food items for a three week period starting Monday, Nov. 16.
The Falcon athletes are teaming up with WESH Channel 2, The Salvation Army, and The Second Harvest Food Bank, for the “Share Your Christmas” food drive to help bring food to the hungry in our community.
Designated boxes located around the Daytona Beach Campus will be used to drop-off donations until Friday, Dec. 4.
Box locations are: Fitness Center, Aquatic Center and L. Gale Lemerand Center (bldg. 310), Credit Union (bldg. 300), Mori Hosseini of College of Hospitality Management (bldg. 1200), Wetherell Administration Building (bldg. 100), Library (bldg. 210), Daytona State College Cosmetology Department (bldg. 510), Academic Support Center (bldg. 500), School of Nursing (bldg. 320), and Cafeteria (bldg. 130).
The “Share Your Christmas” food drive drop-off event takes place Monday, Dec. 7 at the Sunshine Park Plaza – student athletes will be there from 7 to 11 a.m. to assist with collection and distribution.

Daytona State College is a member of the National Junior College Athletic Association and the Florida Community College Athletics Association Mid-Florida Conference.
