Calendar of events at Daytona State announced for August 2015

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (July 16, 2015) - Daytona State College presents the following calendar of events for August 2015.

MUSEUM HOURS: Closed Mondays; OPEN – Tues, Thurs, Fri: 11 a.m. - 5 p.m.  Wed: 11 a.m. - 7 p.m.  Weekends: 1 - 5 p.m. (June, July and December Hours: Tues-Sun: 12-4 p.m.)  CLOSED – Mondays and for the following dates: Daytona 500 Weekend, Daytona State College Spring Break, Easter Sunday, July 4, August 1-17, and Thanksgiving Weekend.

MUSEUM LOCATION: Unless noted otherwise, all museum exhibitions, events and films are presented at the Daytona State College Southeast Museum of Photography which is located on the Daytona Beach Campus of Daytona State College at 1200 International Speedway Blvd, three miles east of 1-95. The museum is located in the Hosseini Center (#1200). Visitor parking is available. Admission & Events are free. The Museum will be closed Aug. 1-17 for Summer Recess. We will re-open on Tuesday, Aug. 18 at 11 a.m.

ALUMNI FOCUS 2015
Commercial Success in Central Florida
The Alumni Focus exhibition at the Southeast Museum of Photography presents photographic works from distinguished alumni of the Southeast Center for Photographic Studies, a consortium with Daytona State College and the University of Central Florida. This year's alumni focus features 15 graduates of this program all working commercially in the Central Florida area. Closed Mondays, and Aug. 1-17; OPEN – Tues, Thurs, Fri: 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Wed: 11 a.m.-7 p.m. Weekends: 1-5 p.m.

SECOND NATURE
Brad Temkin: A Survey
Artist Lecture and Reception: Friday, Oct. 2, 6–8 p.m.
Brad Temkin is an award winning Chicago-based photographer who has been documenting human and environmental relationships throughout his career in photography. This exhibition delves into four bodies of work from the past 10 years that look at this relationship: revealing man's imprint on the natural landscape alongside human efforts to incorporate natural elements back in to urban environments, in their gardens and atop skyscrapers, revealing contrasting states of man-made and natural beauty while simultaneously presenting a framework for positive change.
