Calendar of events at Daytona State announced for August 2017
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (July 17, 2017) - Daytona State College presents the following calendar of events for August 2017.
MUSEUM HOURS: OPEN – Tues, Thurs, Fri: 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Wed: 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturdays: 1-5 p.m. CLOSED – Mondays and Sundays and for the following dates: Daytona 500 Weekend, Daytona State College Spring Break, Easter Weekend, April 23-May 1, July 4, August 1-15, and Thanksgiving Weekend.
MUSEUM LOCATION: Unless noted otherwise, all museum exhibitions, events and films are presented at the Southeast Museum of Photography which is located on the Daytona Beach Campus of Daytona State College at 1200 International Speedway Blvd, three miles east of 1-95. The museum is located in the Hosseini Center (#1200). Visitor parking is available. Admission & Events are free. Eight Daytona State College photography alumni return to the Southeast Museum of Photography to exhibit recent work. The group includes New York Times Staff photographer Stephen Crowley, and Daytona Beach News-Journal Photographer Lola Gomez. Each photographer represented in the exhibit supplied images and stories from their most recent and significant photo project. The projects range from defending Rhinoceros' from poachers, remembrances of the Orlando Pulse shooting, documenting life in DC as a white house photographer, and an exploration of how diversity shapes a metropolis. The Southeast Museum of Photography will present each of these projects along with appropriate didactic material. Museum visitors are encouraged to take advantage of the resources made available for more information on each of the projects, or for guided tours of the exhibit.
