Building and connecting Volusia County's entrepreneurship community. Entrepreneurs gain insight into possible ways they can improve their businesses, gather real-time feedback, connect with a community that truly cares about their progress, and walk away feeling like they have advanced their business. Whether this is through passively listening or deeply engaging with the entrepreneurs, there is much to learn every week from these dynamic and diverse communities.

Crafting & Communicating Your Value Proposition
Businesses can't survive without a clear and compelling value proposition, but many struggle in actual practice.Presented by the Florida Small Business Development Center at Daytona State College, in this free 2-hour workshop learn how to define and express the unique value proposition to capture revenue more frequently and effectively. Limited to 30 attendees; registration required.

The L. Gale Lemerand Speaker Series
This event is made possible through a partnership of the L. Gale Lemerand Center for Entrepreneurship and the Florida Small Business Development Center at Daytona State College. Free and open to the public. In addition, up to three promising students interested in entrepreneurship will each earn a $1,000 L. Gale Lemerand Entrepreneurial Speaker Series Scholarship. DSC students, DSC Adult Education students and Volusia or Flagler County high school students who plan to attend DSC are encouraged to apply. The L. Gale Lemerand Entrepreneurial Speaker Series Scholarship - presented during the March 27 Entrepreneurial Speaker Series
The L. Gale Lemerand Entrepreneurial Speaker Series Scholarship awards students interested in becoming entrepreneurs. The scholarship awards up to (3) $1,000 scholarships based on the following criteria:

  • One - Volusia or Flagler County high school student who plans to attend DSC;
  • One - DSC college-credit student; and
  • One - DSC Adult Education student.

The scholarship application window will be open in the Fall and Spring.  Please watch for opening dates and then click on the appropriate link below to submit your application. 

The scholarship application window will be open from 1/28/19 through 3/1/19.
