Calendar of events at Daytona State announced for June 2014
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (May 16, 2014) - Daytona State College presents the following calendar of events for June 2014.
Events are open to the public and free of charge, unless otherwise noted.
~ Baseball Showcase, June 8, is designed for high school players in grades 10-12. Participants will showcase their talents in front of the Falcon coaching staff in addition to receiving a tour of the facilities and learning more about life with the Falcon baseball program. ~ A four-day Youth Skills Volleyball Camp (for beginner and intermediate playes, $100) will be held June 16-19 and emphasizes on the court training of volleyball skills. The camp will seek to en-hance campers volleyball skills while also improving their overall knowledge of the game. Sessions are committed to specific skill instruction, as well as high level competition and the overall team concept. A Four-day Elite Volleyball Camp (for ages 17-18, $75) will be held July 28-31 and emphasizes on-court training of volleyball skills. The camp will seek to enhance campers’ volleyball skills. Campers will receive specific position work as well as competitive team-concept play. Participation is limited to 25 students per camp. For additional information, call (386) 506-3670.
Men's Basketball Camps
The Daytona State falcon men's basketball program offers hands-on camps to help prepare the next generation of successful athletes.
Daytona State Basketball Camp will emphasize on the court training of the fundamental skills in basketball. The camp will seek to develop and enhance campers basketball skills. The day will include fundamental skill development, 3 vs 3 competition, shooting contests and games as well as other basketball related activities. Campers will be grouped according to age and ability to maximize their experience and growth.

Falcon Fastpitch Academy
Offering an opportunity for players to receive valuable instruction on the fundamental skills of softball. Campers will be made aware of the characteristics that define successful softball players. Organized games between campers will provide a competitive outlet after specific drills have been practiced. Contests built into drills capture the learner's attention, which results in attentive practice.
Drill progressions will be aimed toward recognizing and developing good habits in all aspects of the game. General courtesy, respect for teammates and opponents and the importance of hard work will be taught to the campers through example by the Falcon coaches.

Ages: 8-18 ... will be divided into groups by age!
