Information Session - Florida TRADE Manufacturing program
The Florida TRADE Manufacturing program is an 11-week course that develops an initial set of technical skills that can lead to certifications, internships and job interviews with partnering manufacturing companies (such as AO Precision, Covidien, Thomas & Betts, and Hudson Technologies), and can provide a fast track to a career in manufacturing. The next series of classes is scheduled to start April 2015. Program staff and instructors will provide information and be available to answer questions.

Word 2010, Intermediate
Presented by the Center for Business and Industry at Daytona State College, this course builds on the skills and concepts taught in Word 2010: Basic. Students will work with styles, sections and columns. They will format tables, print labels and envelopes, and work with graphics. They also will use document templates, manage document revisions and work with Web features.  The course fee is $85 and includes a student workbook with a CD-ROM containing the lab files used in class.  The deadline to register for each course is one week prior to the course date.

Word 2010, Advanced
Presented by the Center for Business and Industry at Daytona State College, this one-day course builds on the skills and concepts taught in Word 2010: Intermediate. Students will perform mail merges, create and use forms, and create master documents that include a table of contents, a table of figures, footnotes, endnotes, an index, bookmarks, cross references, and Web frames. They will also create macros, customize the Quick Access toolbar and keyboard shortcuts, and work with XML documents. The course fee is $85 and includes a student workbook with a CD-ROM containing the lab files used in class. The deadline to register for each course is one week prior to the course date.

Microsoft PowerPoint: Basic
Presented by the Center for Business and Industry at Daytona State College, this course covers the basic functions and features of PowerPoint 2010. After an introduction to Power-Point's window components and Help system, students will learn to create, save and rearrange presentations. Then they will format text, use drawing objects, work with graphics, and insert tables and charts. They will then learn to use templates and themes, slide masters and transition effects. Finally, students will learn to proof, run and print presentations.
The course fee is $85 and includes a student workbook with a CD-ROM containing the lab files used in class. The deadline to register for each course is one week prior to the course date.

Nashville Guitar Camp 2015

March 31-April 3, 8 a.m.-5 p.m. (Tuesday through Friday)
Mechanical Systems Troubleshooting
Presented by the Center for Business and Industry at Daytona State College, this course covers the principles and applications of the most commonly found mechanical drive components used in machinery and equipment. Topics include simple mechanical power transmission devices such as shafts, belts, chains, cams and gears with an emphasis on application and troubleshooting. An understanding of simple mechanical components provides the background necessary to explore more complex systems of components used on all types of equipment. This course is aimed at entry level technicians who may be involved in the operation, assembly, test, startup, troubleshooting, maintenance, repair or upgrade of basic machinery modules. At the end of the program students will take the PMMI Mechanical Level 1 Certificate test. Fee: $1,520. Very limited seating! Because this is a hands-on course, seating is very limited.
