DAYTONA BEACH, FL (June 11, 2013) - Daytona State College presents the following calendar of events for July 2013.

Events are open to the public and free of charge, unless otherwise noted.

Excel 2010, Advanced
Presented by the Center for Business and Industry at Daytona State College, this course builds on the skills and concepts taught in Excel 2010: Intermediate. Students will work with advanced formulas, as well as lookup functions such as VLOOKUP, MATCH, and INDEX. In addition, students will learn about data validation and database functions such as DSUM. They will learn how to import and export data, and how to query external databases. Finally, students will learn about the analytical features of Excel (such as Goal Seek and Solver), running and recording macros, SmartArt graphics, and conditional formatting with graphics.  The course fee is $85 and includes a student workbook with a CD-ROM containing the lab files used in class.  The deadline to register for each course is one week prior to the course date.

Presented by the Center for Business and Industry at Daytona State College, this one-day course covers the basic functions and features of Word 2010. Students will learn how to enter and edit text, and save and browse documents. They will learn how to enhance the appearance of a document by using various formatting options. They will also create tables, insert headers and footers, proof and print documents, manage document revisions, and work with Web features. The course fee is $85 and includes a student workbook with a CD-ROM containing the lab files used in class. The deadline to register for each course is one week prior to the course date.

Sexual Harassment & Workplace Violence: An Employer’s Guide to Prevention & Compliance with Regulations
Presented by the Center for Business and Industry at Daytona State College, and the Volusia/Flagler Society for Human Resource Management. Sexual harassment, sexual violence and workplace violence are increasing concerns for employers as they seek to avoid employees’ civil claims about hostile work environment and employment discrimination. Employers should take swift and corrective actions to ensure the work environment of all employees, including managers, is free of any form of sex discrimination that violates their employees’ workplace civil rights. Cost: $25 in advance (via by  PayPasl) by July 12, 2013; $30 at door.

Presented by the Center for Business and Industry at Daytona State College, this one-day course builds on the skills and concepts taught in Word 2010: Intermediate. Students will perform mail merges, create and use forms, and create master documents that include a table of contents, a table of figures, footnotes, endnotes, an index, bookmarks, cross references, and Web frames. They will also create macros, customize the Quick Access toolbar and keyboard shortcuts, and work with XML documents. The course fee is $85 and includes a student workbook with a CD-ROM containing the lab files used in class. The deadline to register for each course is one week prior to the course date.
