Fall/Winter 2019

image of cover of DSC Magazine - Fall/Winter 2019 - featuring Forough B. Hosseini and Dr. Tom LoBassoThe tenth issue of the award-winning Daytona State College Magazine features a tribute to Forough Hosseini, a long-time member and chair of our District Board of Trustees who stepped down last May. She and her husband, Mori, have been friends to the College for many years and you'll be able to read more about the many things she helped us accomplish during her time on the board.

As always, there are stories about some of the wonderful things our alumni are doing in their chosen fields, and we take a look back at the career of one of our longest-serving faculty members who got his start here in 1975. This issue also features photos from our annual gala and homecoming celebration.

Please take some time to read through the online version, or request a copy be mailed to you.

Spring/Summer 2019

image of cover of DSC Magazine - Spring/Summer 2019In this issue of the award-winning Daytona State College Magazine, the excitement of commencement takes center stage. After listening to feedback about previous ceremonies, we wanted to make the event truly special for each graduate and their family and friends in attendance, so in an historic first, the college held three separate ceremonies in one day. Splitting the ceremonies placed the focus squarely on the graduates and the significance of their special day. As the old saying goes, a picture is worth a thousand words, and the photos within this issue capture the pure joy and happiness of the day.

Fall/Winter 2018

image of cover of DSC Magazine - Fall/Winter 2018In this issue, we highlight the stories of just some of the current and former Falcons who perhaps have taken a path less traveled, but are now enjoying satisfying careers. We also feature two Student Government Association presidents, one a recent alumnus, Austin Albro, who is now managing his hometown, literally, and our current SGA president, Kyle Trevithick, who dropped out of college over a decade ago, but has come back as a leader.

We also recognize longtime benefactor, friend and former trustee L. Gale Lemerand, whose name will formally grace our new 84,000-square-foot student center when it opens this spring on our Daytona Beach Campus, as well as the Hosseini's, Forough and Mori, whose influence and hard work helped secure state capital improvement dollars to fund construction.

Also in this issue is a recap of our annual Foundation Gala and Homecoming events, both of which were resounding successes.
