Audio Operator – Sports Independent Contractor

The live audio board operator will assist with the audio setup and mix audio for live sports broadcasts on WDSC-TV 15, a public television station on the campus of Daytona State College. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of two (2) years' experience as an audio operator using a Yamaha audio mixer or similar equipment in a live broadcast environment for sports production, preferably in audio operation for soccer, volleyball, basketball, baseball and softball.

During pre-production, the operator will work with the producer and director to plan which microphones and other audio sources will be used for the broadcast. The operator will work with the engineers and production assistant in the field to ensure remote audio equipment is connected, patched and tested, providing clean signals to the mixer. During the broadcast, the audio operator must be able to quickly and accurately mix and monitor multiple microphones and audio sources maintaining proper levels under cues and direction from the director.  This position requires prior live experience as an A1.

Camera Operator – Sports Independent Contractor

The live camera operator will run camera for live sports broadcasts on WDSC-TV 15, a public television station on the campus of Daytona State College. The ideal candidate will have two (2) years' experience as a camera operator with professional sports remote video cameras mounted on a tripod or handheld operated, preferably in the production of live sports events including soccer, volleyball, basketball, baseball and softball. The camera operator will take direction from the director and must be able to quickly and accurately follow gameplay, maintaining proper framing and focus. The camera operator should be able to lift up to 50lbs and may be required to assist with unloading, setup, tear-down and loadout. The camera operator will be required to stand for several hours and may work inside or outside in varying weather conditions. The camera operator may be required to work on elevated platforms, lifts or rooftops.

College Sports Color Commentator – Sports Independent Contractor

The color commentator will provide commentary and color for live sports broadcasts on WDSC-TV 15, a public television station on the campus of Daytona State College. The color commentator will work with a play-by-play announcer and provide additional commentary and information on the sport, teams, athletes, and coaches during live remote broadcasts of sporting events including soccer, volleyball, basketball, baseball and softball. The color commentator will be seen on camera depending on the sport. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a command of the English language, a strong camera presence, and two (2) years' experience calling college sports. If a single candidate does not have familiarity in all of the sports, multiple announcers with dedicated knowledge of particular sports may be hired. The candidate must be able to quickly and accurately follow gameplay, describe the action, and relate enhanced information and statistics about players and coaches. The color commentator will work with the Athletics department in advance of game days to research and develop storylines for live remote sports broadcasts. During broadcasts they will take direction from the producer. This position could involve 14 or more broadcasts over a Spring and Fall season.

The Play-by-Play Commentator will anchor live sports productions on WDSC-TV 15, a public television station on the campus of Daytona State College.   The Play-by-Play Commentator will provide descriptive narration during live televised productions of Daytona State College sports including soccer, volleyball, basketball, softball, and baseball. The Play-by-Play Commentator may appear on camera depending on the sport and will also work with a color commentator on live productions.   The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated command of the English language, a strong camera presence, and two (2) years' experience calling college sports.  If a single candidate does not have familiarity in all of the sports, multiple announcers with dedicated knowledge of particular sports may be hired. Television Director for Sports Broadcasts – Sports Independent Contractor

The Television Director for Sports Broadcasts will work from a rundown, direct camera shots, call cameras, graphics and transitions for switching. Ideal candidate should have two (2) years of experience in directing a wide variety of sports such as basketball, baseball, volleyball, softball and soccer. Additionally, the ideal candidate will have experience in directing multi-camera live sporting events for broadcast to direct televised home games of various sports from the Daytona State College athletic facilities on campus. The candidate will work closely with the producer of the sports broadcast and should have good communication skills, be organized and possess the confidence to work well under pressure. The Director will be working with a crew that is a mixture of professional staff, independent contractors and students. This position would involve 14 or more broadcasts over a Fall to Spring season. The candidate would need to be available for a typical eight-hour day for the completion of broadcasts.

Xpression Character Generators Operator – Sports Independent Contractor

The Live Character Generator Operator will create and recall graphics for live sports broadcasts on WDSC-TV 15, a public television station on the campus of Daytona State College. The deal candidate would have two (2) years' experience as a graphics operator using Ross Xpression graphics in a live sports broadcast environment, preferably in productions featuring soccer, volleyball, basketball, baseball and softball. The Graphics Operator would work with the producer and director during preproduction to make sure the appropriate graphics and data for the broadcast are prepared and loaded. Candidate should be able to modify existing data, enter new data, load and play clips, and take graphics and clips to air using both the native interface of the Xpression and custom GUI interfaces through Ross Dashboard. During live game broadcasts, the Graphics Operator will take direction from the director and must be able to quickly and accurately enter and call up graphics and clips as directed.

Production Assistant - Sports Independent Contractor

The live Production Assistant will provide support for live sports broadcasts on WDSC-TV 15, a public television station on the campus of Daytona State College. The ideal candidate will have one (1) year experience as a Production Assistant working live remote sports including soccer, volleyball, basketball, baseball and softball. The production assistant should be able to lift up to 50 lbs. and will be required to assist with unloading, setup, tear-down and loadout. The production assistant will be required to stand for several hours and may work inside or outside in varying weather conditions. The production assistant may be required to work on elevated platforms, lifts or rooftops, will assist with audio setup, pull cable for handheld cameras, layout and coil cables, and perform other duties as needed under the direction of the director, producer, and engineer.

Replay Operator – Sports Independent Contractor

The live video Replay Operator will mark and recall video clips during live sports broadcasts on WDSC-TV 15, a public television station on the campus of Daytona State College. The ideal candidate will have two (2) years' experience as a Replay Operator using the NewTek 3Play replay system in a broadcast environment for sports production, preferably doing replay for soccer, volleyball, basketball, baseball, and softball. During preproduction, the operator will work with the producer and director to determine content requirements and setup the 3Play console for use. During the broadcast, the Replay Operator will monitor and record multiple cameras, marking ins and outs and quickly and accurately recall and cue plays as directed.  In addition, the replay operator will build up a highlight "reel" that can be used at halftime and at the end of the game.

Professional Tutor
TRiO Educational Talent Search

Daytona State College is seeking a Professional Tutor with the ability to tutor in the core high school subjects and SAT/ACT preparation for our TRiO Educational Talent Search program.  This position is available through Lyneer Staffing Solutions. Applicants who are hired will not be employees of Daytona State College.

Minimum Qualifications: This position requires an Associates' degree with an emphasis on either Mathematics, Language Arts, and/or Science. One (1) year teaching, graduate internship, or related experience in tutoring in one of the respective subjects is preferred. Experience working at the postsecondary level is desired.

Responsibilities: The successful candidates will provide academic assistance to current middle and high school students enrolled in the TRiO Educational Talent Search program.  This position requires travel to designated tutoring locations.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: The successful candidate must be able to relate to and work with middle and high school students individually and/or in small groups, exercise good judgment, and communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. He or she will exercise strong organizational skills, exhibit an eagerness to learn and be of service, and promote positive student, faculty, and staff relations.

Salary: $14.50/hr (up to 20 hrs/week)

Working Hours and Location:  Hours are flexible based on tutoring needs and may require evening and Saturday hours.  Position will be based on the Daytona Campus but will be asked to tutor on the DeLand, or Deltona campuses; area middle and high schools, or public facilities, as deemed necessary, depending on tutoring demands.

Daytona State College is seeking an Office Staff Assistant for our Enrollment Services Department. This position is available through Lyneer Staffing Solutions. Applicants who are hired will not be employees of Daytona State College.

Minimum Qualifications: This position requires a High School Diploma. This position also requires six months of experience. Office management and customer service experience preferred.

Responsibilities: Responsible for providing comprehensive clerical support for Enrollment Services participants, parents, and staff on the DeLand Campus. This position is a performance based position and continuous employment is contingent upon the successful achievement of College and Program goals and objectives.
